Cynthia  started her education in watercolor in 1974 with Barbara Norris Church Mailer at Russellville High School, continuing on after graduation at Arkansas Tech University. She sought out specific mentors in watercolor with Lucy Mulcahy and Stanley Rames both of the Chicago Institute of Art, then dabbled in Pottery and Photography at the National Park Community College. The fun never ends in watercolor going to Nationally Known Artist workshops given by Milford Zornes, Frank Webb, Don Andrews, Tony Couch and Dan Burt. She was very encouraged when she juried into the Fort Smith National Show competition twice, and the Missouri Watercolor Society. She began displaying her paintings at Art Shows at Arkansas Art Centers and Galleries in Hot Springs.

As a member of art groups, she held officer positions since 1994, and is the current President of the Fine Art Center of Hot Springs since May 2006. She believes artists should support their Art Centers with their time and talent for a winning combination.

As a registered watercolor artist listed in the Arkansas Arts on Tour roster of the Arkansas Arts Council, she is authorized to teach watercolor workshops for art centers, groups and non-profit organizations. Stanley Rames and her taught watercolor workshops at my Summit House on Mt. Nebo four years until his death in 2005. She was selected as the watercolor instructor at Envision U camp located at the Rockefeller Center sponsored by the University of Arkansas on Mt. Petit Jean.
