Dan R. Thornhill, Little Rock
Dan R. Thornhill has been interested in art from an early age. In school, he would oftentimes spend his time doodling instead of listening to his teachers. Born in Dallas, Texas in 1946, Dan graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a degree in Biology. After a hiatus of many years from art, he began studying art at the Arkansas Arts Center, Museum School, in March 2001. Since then, he has taken numerous classes and workshops from various professional artists.
Dan's artwork is non-representational abstract reflecting an interest in expressing himself through color and texture. Dan's paintings are oftentimes expressionistic with a palette consisting primarily of warm colors. He loves to experiment and try new techniques.
Dan believes that learning is a life long pursuit that is essential for one's growth as an artist. He has developed into a versatile painter working in acrylics and oils with his own unique style and expression.
