Originally from New Jersey, studied art the Philadelphia College of Art, San Antonio College and the San Antonio Art Institute. He worked as an illustrator for the army in San Antonio until moving to Arkansas in 1981. Don taught art at North Arkansas College for 23 years. Now retired so he can devote full time to painting. His chosen medium is egg tempera, a technique used in the early Renaissance using egg yoke, pigment and water. He also works in watercolor and oils.  He is a member of the Society of Egg Tempera Painters.

His work can be found in many private and corporate collections. He enjoys painting commissioned portraits or landscapes.
