Jim Oberst, Hot Springs Village

Jim Oberst is a watercolor artist living in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. He paints many subjects, including seascapes, landscapes, and portraits. He particularly enjoys painting rural scenes of the farms and lakes of the beautiful Ouachita Mountain region in Arkansas. Many of Jim's paintings invite the viewer to step inside the scene and experience peace and nostalgia for the unhurried life of days gone by. His watercolors are known for their clarity, color, and impact.

Jim has won many local and regional awards, including First Place in the 2005 and 2007 Diamond National Juried Exhibits sponsored by the Fine Arts Center of Hot Springs, and the Gold Award in the Mid-Southern Watercolorists 2007 Annual Exhibition. His paintings can be found in private collections in 18 states and Canada, and in the permanent collection of the Fine Arts Center of Hot Springs.
