Julia Wood Waschka lives in El Dorado, Arkansas. She is basically a self-taught artist who considers herself to be an "outsider" or “visionary” artist. She works mainly in collage, using found objects, fabric, paper,clay, yarns, stamping techniques, oil pastels and acrylics. She also makes shrines, assemblages, Voodoo House Blessing Dolls, painted wooden chairs, bowls and boxes. She has worked as a professional artist since 1986. Her work can be seen at the Cantrell Gallery in Little Rock, Backwoods Art & Frame in El Dorado, and the Possibilities Salon in El Dorado, AR.
