ARTIST WEBSITE:
Justin Trimble is an abstract painter from Little Rock, AR. He
graduated with a Liberal Arts degree from Loyola University of New Orleans in 2004. In 2006, Trimble decided to begin selling his art after recieving compliments and offers to buy many of the abstract paintings he had created for his own collection. Trimble's unconventional methods include the movement of paint across large surfaces with various kitchen utensils and custom-made gloves which allow him to use spatula-like fingers to manipulate each painting in a more intimate manner than brush techniques would allow. His paintings have been compared to blown glass due to their fluid and vibrant use of color. Trimble's smooth blending of these colors and added texture are unique in style and appearance, which sets his work apart from more geometric abstract paintings. Although his work may seem purely abstract, many of Trimble's pieces begin as representations of actual objects and scenes. These paintings are then transformed through the deconstructive movement of paint. The result; tangled imagery, remniscent of chaotically jumbled and melted puzzle pieces. The placement and shapes are left behind, but the feelings and emotions that the imagery provokes remain. In fact, Trimble has described his own work as "... the chaos of a melted puzzle".
