Karlyn Holloway, Austin

Karlyn Holloway began drawing as a young child by copying models from the newspaper. In high school she always had a sketchbook in hand, drawing portraits of friends. College seemed to be just a dream and was put on the back burner. Marriage, raising a child and a full time job keep her busy. Karlyn’s life changed with a new marriage and with many thanks to her husband Billy she entered college a little older and hopefully wiser. She has obtained an Associate Degree in Art from ASU Beebe and continued her education at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, pursuing a BFA degree. Karlyn has received numerous awards in local and national art shows. Karlyn contributes to the Arkansas Repertory Artworks auction and shows her work there yearly.
She recently made a contribution to the Thea foundation and will have work showing at the Clinton library this summer.  Karlyn has served as a demonstration coordinator, newsletter editor and president of the Arkansas League of Artists. She is also a member of Mid-Southern Watercolorists and is listed in the Arkansas artists’ registry.
