I don't think I would have been directly involved in the arts had I stayed in my native Hong Kong.  Adjusting to a foreign culture has been a learning experience on many different levels.  In some ways, it has involved a transformation not unlike one experiences while passing from childhood to maturity.  When I moved to the United States everything was new.  I was the outsider.  I became more a watcher and less a judge.  I think that my art reflects the transformation I have undergone from the passive state of watching to the more active position of seeing.  I do not attempt to pass judgement with my art or make a political or psychological statement.  It is just something that I do, something I enjoy doing.  In the best moments, it feels right.
