ARTIST BIO:
Margaret Lola Warren, Shirley
ARTIST E-MAIL:
Margaret Warren grew up in Shirley, Arkansas which is nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Ozark Mountains, with breathtaking views of Greers Ferry Lake. She graduated from Clinton High School and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Missouri State University in 1999. After graduation she moved back to Shirley where she currently owns Clinton Florist and Fine Art in Clinton, AR. Margaret serves on the board of the Arkansas Sculptors' Guild and is a member of the Conway League of Artists, and North Central Arkansas Foundation for Arts & Education. Her Stainless Steel Sculpture, Majestic, was recently chosen by the Arkansas Governor's Mansion Association for inclusion in their 2008 Arkansas Arts Calendar. Margaret Warren's artwork largely focuses on animals and wildlife. As a child growing up in rural Arkansas, nature was a huge part of her life. Her sculptures display a stylized realism with a fluidity and movement within them. Her love for figurative work developed while in undergraduate school and she continues to challenge myself with new ideas and compositions. Margaret's work can currently be seen in galleries and sculpture shows all over the state of Arkansas. |
