This dyed-in-the-wool Capricorn, born in Little Rock, Arkansas is meaningfully associated with the Martin Luther King Heritage and Enrichment Center, Inc. Melverue states her visual art career as a painter, and expressionist began with a solo exhibition in 1985 followed by juried, solo, and group exhibitions in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Long Beach CA before returning to Arkansas in 1989. Since her return, she has shown in numerous galleries locally as well as Missouri and Louisiana. The painting "Harmonic Convergence" was selected for a book cover: "Spirit Speaks To Sisters" authored by June J. Gatlin, a best seller 1996. Pen and ink drawings were also included for the book "Pride of Heritage"; as well as the book cover and drawings for "Last of The Colored Boys" both authored by Karlyeon Akka. Currently, she's working mostly with acrylic medium however she enjoys working with most. Melverue continues to work and seize opportunities to exhibit her creative works of art.
