Nancy LaFarra Wilson from McGehee, Arkansas, enjoys painting in oils and watercolors. She has a bachelor's degree in art education from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. She currently teaches art to kindergarten through sixth grade students at McGehee Elementary School.
In 1997, Nancy was selected as the Arkansas Art Educators Elementary Art Teacher of the Year. She was also the Southeast Regional Director for AAE for two years. Nancy's artwork has been exhibited in numerous art shows including the Arkansas Artist Registry Gallery in Little Rock, the Metroplan offices in Little Rock, Women's City Club in Little Rock, Fort Smith Art Center, Fort Smith Convention Center, Spencer Art Gallery at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Grand Prairie Festival of Arts in Stuttgart, Helena Watercolor Exhibit, the Arts and Science Center in Pine Bluff, the Art Center of the Ozarks in Springdale, Guachoya Cultural Art Center in Lake Village, River Market at the Kansas City Artists Coalition in Kansas City, MO, Senator Blanche Lincoln's exhibit of Arkansas artists in her Washington D.C. office, National Juried Exhibit, "Kindred Spirits: Celebrating the Healing Power of Pets" in Linclon, Nebraska, Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock, Regional Juried exhibit at Regional Arts Center in Texarkana, TX, "Plein Air" juried Art Exhibit at Keyes Gallery in Springfield, MO. and included in the 2008 Arkansas Artists Calendar sponsored by the Governor's Mansion Association. Nancy's donates many of her artworks to various organizations throughout Arkansas. Nancy's artwork consists mostly of things she has seen, places she has been, andthings familiar to her. |
