Sheila Cantrell, Pine Bluff

ARTIST BIO:

Sheila spent the first ten years of her professional life as a computer programmer/analyst. Her first introduction to drawing was through a six-week community art class offered in her home town of Pine Bluff. That was the first step of a journey which has taken her from fledgling hobbyist to professional artist. Her technical background, with its attention to detail, reveals itself in the highly detailed realism of her artwork. Sheila's graphite and colored pencil drawings have appeared in many national and international juried exhibitions and won several awards.

Sheila's work was featured in the Winter 2006 issue of Drawing, an American Artist Magazine publication, and her work was selected for inclusion in a SmithKramer touring museum exhibition titled The New Reality: The Frontier of Realism in the 21st Century. In addition, she has exhibited her work at the M.A. Doran Gallery in Tulsa, the Sherry French Gallery in New York City, and the Manitou Gallery in Santa Fe. Sheila is a member of the International Guild of Realism and the Colored Pencil Society of America.
