ARTIST BIO:

Virginia Haines, Mountain Home

ARTIST E-MAIL:

Virginia Haines, a well-known artist and resident of Mountain Home, Arkansas, since 1993, has been drawing and painting since very young. Talent and creativity continued with much encouragement from both family and teachers who recognized her inborn talent. Drawing and painting has always provided the artist with her descriptive 'release without boundaries', seeking both realistic and visionary landscape images along with other related ideas for new paintings. Virginia began painting in colored pencil, charcoal, and experimentations with oil painting which became her favorite medium for many years. After taking a class, watercolor painting became her primary medium of artistic expression. She enjoys the freedom of watercolor painting because of the unpredictable flow of color and paint in wet-in-wet techniques. Oil Painting provides an ideal change from watercolor as it changes the spontaneity of watercolors to a controlled buttery layering of oil paint preferred for portraiture and other commissions, or landscapes with textured details.
